Council on Aging for McIntosh Trail

Programs & Information

The Council on Aging for McIntosh Trail programs and services are designed to help maintain and strengthen the ability of elderly individuals to care for themselves and remain independent. In addition, the agency provides a broad range of recreational, social, health, nutrition education, and transportation  services.

 Congregate Meals  are available to adults 60 years and older and the spouse of the same. The  noonday meal is provided in a group setting Monday through Friday.

McIntosh Trail's Meals On Wheels serves persons who are homebound, unable to prepare a nutritious meal, and do not have anyone able to prepare a nutritious meal on a regular basis.

Recreational  Services offered by our senior centers include field trips, adult games, needlework, quilt making, picnics, etc.

Senior Citizen Center Activities
A broad range of activities are available to individuals 60 years of age and older in all nutrition centers.

Health Services are  available through coordination with local heath departments, Red Cross, health and lung associations, etc.

UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION  
The Council on Aging for McIntosh Trail, Inc. provides transportation servicesin Butts, Lamar, Pike, Upson and Spalding County.  Our office provides public transporation for $2.00 per one way trip per rider.   Call 24 hours ahead, there are times when we are full. Services provided for Educaiton, Shopping, Medical, Recreation and Employment.

Georgia Senior Legal Hotline
 
A Project of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society in cooperation with the Georgia Division of Aging Services and the Georgia Legal Services Program.
Launched in May 1998, the Georgia Senior Legal Hotline provides legal advice, brief service and lawyer referrals.
The mission of the Georgia Senior Legal Hotline is to provide brief, accurate legal advice and referrals to economically and socially vulnerable older Georgians and their families. Our goals are to increase access to legal services and to aid seniors in remaining self sufficient.
Attorneys will answer questions:
Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
